Have your say on local bus routes, urges Jon Whitehouse

Bus consultation poster. Thursday 4 August to Wednesday 28 September

Local county councillor Jon Whitehouse is encouraging Epping Forest bus users to comment on proposed changes to local bus routes.

Essex County Council today launched a consultation about local subsidised bus routes. You can fill in the survey online. Backgound information and a questionnaire to fill in by hand will be available in libraries or can be downloaded.

Bus services covered are

  • Service 32 (Chelmsford - Ongar)
  • Service 46 (Chelmsford / Epping - Ongar)
  • Services 46A-G (Epping - Ongar)
  • Services 47/146/147 (Ongar/Hatfield Heath/Toot Hill - Harlow/Ongar)
  • Services 211/212 (Waltham Cross - Breach Barns/Roundhills)
  • Service 213 (Waltham Cross - Epping/St Margarets)
  • Services 240 / 250 / 251 (Waltham Cross - Upshire/Debden)
  • Services 381/382 (Toot Hill - Harlow)
  • Service 418b (Service 418b Loughton - Harlow).

Commercial and TfL services are not included.

Suggested changes include improvements (eg an extra 46 Ongar - Chelmsford service in the middle of the day), withdrawals (e.g. last service of the day on 418b) and possible complete changes (e.g. demand responsive transport or replacement shopper services in place of the 46A-G)

"These are important links for many local residents, especially those without access to a car. Some of these services are the only public transport serving a settlement so I hope as many passengers as possible have their say before Wednesday 28 September," said Jon.
