Jon Whitehouse

Parliamentary candidate for Epping Forest

Liberal Democrat candidate Jon Whitehouse is the best choice to be Epping Forest’s new MP. Jon lives in Epping and has a long record of working for local people. He is campaigning to tackle the cost-of-living crisis, end the crisis in the NHS and stop the sewage scandal.

Jon will continue to take up residents’ concerns about the pressure Conservative policies are placing on local public services, infrastructure and the environment. He is campaigning for an end to bad developments that do not deliver the local services and facilities that residents need.

Jon said:

“For years our area has been taken for granted by an out-of-touch Conservative Government that has failed to get the basics right and lurched from crisis to crisis. Now it’s time for change.”

“Local health services are under pressure as people struggle to get a GP appointment and the new hospital local people were promised has been delayed time and again. Mortgages and rent have skyrocketed. Water companies have been allowed to pump their filthy sewage into our local rivers.

“All this by a Conservative government more interested in fighting between themselves than standing up for the country.

“The Liberal Democrats have set out clear plans to improve access to GP appointments, hold water company bosses to account and support those who need it most.

"My top priorities for Epping Forest are to improve access to local GP appointments, deliver the often-postponed new local hospital, improve support for those most affected by the cost-of-living crisis and protect our very special local environment.

“Every vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote for a fair deal. It’s a vote for a party that will stand up for our community and our health services.”

More and more people are backing the Liberal Democrats in Epping Forest. The Liberal Democrats have more than doubled their number of councillors on the district council since 2021, gaining seats from the Conservatives in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Across the country the Liberal Democrats are on the up after beating the Conservatives at May’s local elections and winning four stunning parliamentary by-election victories since the last General Election.
