Brook Road Pavement New!

Cllrs Ann Haigh, Jill Sutcliffe, Angela Cass and Joyce Darby are pressing for a pavement to be provided along Brook Road. They have put in a high priority request to Essex County Council Highways to take action on this.

Council to set out plans for new housing

The district council has announced it wants to make progress on its Development Plan in 2010 - which means decisions will be taken about where houses will be built in the future to meet the demand for new homes.

Lib Dem calls for council tax freeze

Epping Forest residents deserve a break from relentless council tax rises, according to the Liberal Democrats. At last night's district council budget meeting Liberal Democrat councillors proposed a council tax freeze. However the Lib Dem budget amendment was rejected, meaning that council tax will increase again this year. Liberal Democrat Group Leader Jon Whitehouse, who proposed the budget amendment, said:
