Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on Epping Forest District Council, Jon Whitehouse, has today received clarification on the many missed rubbish and recycling collections across the district.

Councillor Whitehouse commenting on the current situation said "Residents cannot miss the great piles of recycling lying about which weren't picked up before Christmas because of the bad weather. We had been told that the contractors will try to catch up, but this advice has now changed.

The council has now said that the contractors will revert to the revised timetable rather than catching up. This will mean in some areas rubbish will not have been collected for up to 4 weeks. Therefore, the contractor will collect any additional waste placed next to your container.
