Welcome for Extra Police

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 23rd Nov 2006

Alan Lion and the local Liberal Democrats have welcomed police plans to put extra officers on the beat in Limes Farm after 8 pm.

"The extra police presence will help tackle anti social behaviour," said local parish councillor Alan Lion.

He has been calling for more regular patrols to reassure local people and deter crime.

"We also need positive action to give local young people more opportunities," said Cllr Lion. "We need to work with young people and not just issue antisocial behaviour orders."
