Epping Forest Lib Dems Thanks Residents
10.23.04am BST (GMT +0100) Sun 14th May 2006
After a long campaign the Liberal Democrats remained the second largest party in Epping Forest. Although disappointed that they did not retain seats in Grange Hill and one in Buckhurst Hill, Roland Frankel election in Theydon Bois meant that the Tories did not win overall control of the council.
All the Liberal Democrat candidates would like to thank local residents who took the time to vote for them on May 4.
Cllr Janet Whitehouse said: "I would like to thank all residents who voted for me to represent them on Epping Forest District Council."
Newly elected councillor for Buckhurst Hill East Peter Spencer added "I will be joining a group of 12 other Liberal Democrats who will be working hard to re-invigorate our ailing democracy."
